After fighting for his life and beating cancer, Chris “The Real Deal” Beal (2-0) returns to the cage to take on muay-thai veteran Evan Esguerra (3-3). This fight will mark Beal’s return to the cage in over 2 years, where at one point in his treatment, he was informed by doctors that he may never walk again. He’s rehabilitation has gone better than he imagined and he’s excited to showcase his skills at Badbeat 3.

“Right after my October 2009 fight I found a small lump on my left leg. After going to a specialist we were informed that it was soft tissue sarcoma. I then went through three terms of chemotherapy, two rounds of radiation and underwent surgery twice. The surgeon cut part of my hamstring and tendons out of my leg and at one point I was told that I may lose it. Now, I’m ready to get back in action and fight”

Strikeforce veteran Evan Esguerra (3-3) has won the last two of three fights by way of TKO. The former marine fought muay-thai for six years professionally prior to making his transition into the sport. He looks to put his skills to the test against a tough Chris Beal.

In a clash of the counties, Diman “Steel Leg” Morris (3-1) from Los Angeles calls out Nick “Mercenary” Moghaddam (4-4) from Orange County. Diman’s only loss was delivered by former UFC middleweight Jared “J-Roc” Rollins. Morris is coming off an exciting 3-round split decision victory at M-1 Global this past July.

Moghaddam, an Allan Goes Jiu-Jitsu trained fighter has competed in Bellator Fighting Championships, won the past 4 of 6 fights and is no stranger to knocking his opponents unconscious. He scored a first round KO against Frank Navarez and plastered Reed Shelger with punches to win by TKO in the second round.

Los Angeles school teacher and Bellator veteran Albert Rios (12-6) and former Strikeforce competitor Bobby “The Kid” Sanchez (6-15) have agreed to go to war in a bantamweight pairing. Mr. Rios was matched up against a tough Jason Williams at Badbeat 2 back in June of this year where he dropped a decision. Sanchez took part of the main event of Badbeat 2 where he was forced to tapout due to an arm-triangle choke in the first round.

Middleweights Michael Jasper (1-0) and Teshawn “Beast Mode” Walls (1-0) will also step inside the cage to start off the Badbeat 3 fight card. Both fighters are looking to continue to improve their records and rack up another win. “Beast Mode” trains out of Ultimate Fitness with Uriah Faber and team Alfa Male and is making the trip down south to fight Ventura resident Jasper who fights out of Elite MMA.

Those in attendance can expect a plethora of MMA legends including Josh “The Baby-Faced Assassin” Barnett, Renato “Babalu” Sobral, legendary Bas Rutten, Arthur Lieberman of POW Entertainment and a pair of stunning ring girls – Ms. Jennifer Swift and Ms. Katelynn Ansari. Pictures at
